Jiangxi Yaotai Copper Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yaotai Company”) plans to invest 160.5852 million yuan within its existing plant area to build a copper strip production project with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons (an additional 10,000 tons). The project is located in the Hengfeng Economic Development Zone in Jiangxi Province and will involve renovation and expansion on the original site. Its central geographic coordinates are 117°34′11.55″ east longitude and 28°23′58.73″ north latitude. The project’s raw materials include scrap copper, scrap brass, and zinc ingots. The copper strip will be produced through a series of processes including melting and shaping, cutting, hot rolling, milling, cold rolling (rough rolling and intermediate rolling), annealing, acid pickling, precision rolling, shearing, and straightening by drawing and bending.
In accordance with the relevant provisions and requirements of the “Environmental Impact Assessment Law of the People’s Republic of China,” the “Regulations on Environmental Protection Management of Construction Projects,” and the “Measures for Public Participation in Environmental Impact Assessment” (Ministry Order No. 4), we are now conducting the second public notice for the “Environmental Impact Report of the 10,000-ton-per-year Copper Strip Project (with an additional 10,000 tons) to be Constructed by Jiangxi Yaotai Copper Industry Co., Ltd.”
I. Overview of the Construction Project
Jiangxi Yaotai Copper Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yaotai Company”) plans to invest 160.5852 million yuan within its existing plant area to build a copper strip production project with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons (an additional 10,000 tons).
